Challah Covers

These challah covers are very simple, meant to evoke the peace that is Shabbat.

I weave challah covers in natural unbleached cotton. They are plain weave with a border of huck lace in a Magen David motif on either end. The size is approximately 18" x 13".

A challah cover is a lovely gift – for your own Sabbath table, for the friends with whom you share Shabbes dinner, for a Hanukat Habayit (house warming). Next time you’re going to someone’s home for Friday night dinner, offer to bring the challah and bring it covered in a hand woven cloth. Afterwards, either carry the cloth away with you with a promise to bring the challah wrapped in it again next week, or leave it with them as you go. A gift either way.
